Derek is passionate about meeting and motivating Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people across Canada.  He enjoys sharing the struggles and triumphs he has experienced throughout his life.  His goal is to inspire indigenous youth to achieve their dreams in education and sports, while maintaining ties to the Anishinaabe culture and the land.  He is also eager to provide insight to Aboriginal issues using his knowledge of the law.
